Last year I had the amazing opportunity to work on Jurassic World: Rebirth with film director Gareth Edwards. He was looking for a middle-ground between B&W speedpaintings and storyboards. Typically he would describe a sequence to me and send accompanying napkin sketches - I'd do my best to sketch them out. Sometimes I was given a looser concept, like 'Loomis explains to Zora how the dart works' and was given the freedom to visualize a sequence myself. The project was running at ultra-high speed and it was my first time doing work like this, but I found my feet quickly and managed to keep up! Overall a great experience, and Gareth was one of the coolest people I've worked with. Here's a selection of some of my favourite frames, thanks for looking :)
